About This Event
The Cambio Olympics 2026 was a free two-day van life Olympic-style games event hosted during Pop-Up Jamul, bringing together physical games, lawn games, card games, board games, and beginner-friendly disc golf.
The idea behind the event is simple: play is productive. Rather than centering the gathering around networking or forcing people to make conversation, the Olympics gives everyone something to do together and lets connection happen naturally through playing.
Events included Kan Jam, beginner-friendly disc golf, Cambio, Exploding Kittens, Catan, and a mix of other physical, lawn, board, and card games. The event itself was free and open to the public, while overnight camping was available separately.
Prizes included a free Cambio game and free stays at a future Pop-Up. The Olympics format is something Caleb has hosted in different forms before and plans to continue bringing back, usually around once a year depending on where Pop-Up Nomads is camped.

The event was open to the public. Overnight camping at Pop-Up Jamul was separate from event participation.
Event Recap
The 2026 Cambio Olympics turned two days at Pop-Up Jamul into a mix of physical, lawn, board, card, and disc golf events built around one of our favorite ideas: play is productive. The format gave people an easy way to interact without relying on constant conversation and reinforced why game-based events remain a major part of Pop-Up Nomads. We plan to bring the Olympics back again in future seasons.
